What does Ric Flair want from his last match?

We all remember the iconic Wrestlemania 24 match between Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels, which resulted in the Nature Boy theoretically retiring from the ring, although in practice he continued his career. In fact, less than two years later he took part in a tour of longtime friend Hulk Hogan and then became part of the TNA / IMPACT roster where he fought his last match on 15 September 2011 against Sting.

Now he is ready to return on July 31st as part of the Starrcast event organized by the husband of his eldest daughter, podcaster and well-known wrestling-themed collector, Conrad Thompson, who asked him if he would like to have one last match.

with the legend who obviously answered yes.

Ric Flair on his last match

Speaking with Connor Casey of ComicBook, Ric Flair discussed what must happen during his last match to live up to his expectations: “It must be really cool, it must be better than anything I’ve done since Shawn Michaels,” he answered firmly.

“It’s not about the money. It’s about restoring the fact that I have confidence in myself. She’s never been that high. Back then, at the time, I was still having self-confidence issues and was paying [for her divorces] more than three people and I had to go to work.

Now I don’t have to do anything. But it gave me a goal. I trained. Kelly (Brewster) and I have worked together as partners on this [his next comic series] but he trains with me too and it’s a lot of hard work. We drive 45 miles to John Cena’s house in the morning for an hour and a half.

And then we go to Saint Peak to train like there’s no tomorrow for two hours and it’s a lot more fun for me if I have someone to compete against.” Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Flair predicted that Rhodes would win either the WWE Championship or Universal Championship from Roman Reigns.

“Cody’s gonna be the champion sooner or later,” Flair said. “I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to get that championship off where Roman has both of them — get one of them off him. I think the company functions better with two champions anyway”.
