Road Dogg reveals where he wants to build his career

WWE Hall of Famer “Road Dogg” Brian James had an interesting job, working with talents in NXT. However, he is no longer in that position and is now interested in doing the same job again, but in a different organization.

More precisely, his desire is to go to AEW and proving himself within AEW. “I wanted to keep my relationship with [WWE] really good even if I went somewhere else to work,” Road Dogg told “Insight with Chris Van Vliet, as quoted by Wrestling Inc.

“Which, I’d love to do that. I’d love to work with promo guys backstage at AEW because it’s just new talent — Well, half of them are NXT talent I’ve worked with in the past, but I would love to do something challenging, you know what I mean?” It was rumored that Road Dogg was backstage at AEW, however, Road Dogg denied such rumors.

“I have not,” he said. “I have not been there at all. I was looking forward to the opportunity in Vegas, but I ended up canceling my show out there, so I didn’t end up going”.

Road Dogg explains the reasons for leaving WWE

Road Dogg revealed a month ago why the relationship between him and WWE ended.

Things were of a financial nature. The crisis that reigns in the world after COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine has affected everyone. “So look, in every conspiracy theory, there’s always a handful of truth, right? But I don’t think that’s the case.

I think what they have done is just business. Because I have been on the side of the business and in this business for the last ten years, I look at it differently than how other guys might be compared to their perception. Look, the fact that they cut me and my brother and 13 other people that day, from a business decision standpoint, saved them from spending about $5-10 million a year.

Do you know what that means? So from a business perspective ‘Hey, we gotta lower the numbers here a bit.’ Now, my name sadly got in there and everyone took it like touching a Hunter boy. I can’t talk about this and I don’t think that’s the case.

I think it was more like ‘We gotta kick some people out’ These are the people who make the most money, to be honest with you, but who else can we send away to file these numbers? Vince and I spoke by message, I thanked him for the ten years and for the life experience and for the last ten years of good pay,” Road Dogg said.
